Capping Balustrades
What if your staircase consists of half height (or dwarf) walls in place of the traditional balustrade? Many homeowners opt to include plaster walls as a way of improving privacy or lessening noise travelling between levels. The solution is capping in the GTA it sits on top of these walls to tie them into the staircase.
We have a number of options to choose from, including:
- Common in straight, 'L' and 'U' shaped staircases (but can be suitable for other shapes on a case-by-case basis)
- Handrails can be installed on the wall if desired
- Can be stained or painted to match the rest of the staircase
Capping Balustrades and Outdoors
When using balustrade capping on your staircase, choosing a colour for the dwarf wall is a very important decision. Colours that are too dark can make the stairwell feel small and enclosed, so consider colours that are lighter (which will make the space feel brighter, airier and more open).
